TRIAD Transition Facilitator Workshop - East, TN

Vanderbilt’s Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders (TRIAD) will provide a one-day hands-on workshop designed specifically for LEA faculty and staff in Tennessee who work in the middle or high school setting. The purpose of this workshop is to help facilitate effective transition planning for students with autism spectrum disorders. Participants will leave equipped with six online modules to be used in transition planning activities in their own schools and school systems. Module topics include person-centered planning, finances, employment, postsecondary education, independent living, and the Employment and Community First (ECF) Choices program.

Participant Requirements

  • Attend the full-day workshop
  • Implement the use of at least three modules during transition planning activities with at least 1 student and family during the 2018-19 school year
  • Complete associated paperwork during the workshop and as a follow up after implementing the modules

Proof of Attendance

Participants will receive certificates documenting their participation in the workshop and 6 hours of professional development.

This workshop opportunity is sponsored by the Tennessee Department of Education and is available to educators in LEAs in Tennessee at no-cost to participants.
