Below you will find basic information about the first webinars in our 2019 Spring Faith and Disability Webinar Series. They are usually held on the third Wednesday of the month, unless otherwise noted. The webinars are being organized and delivered from the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center in Nashville. Title: The Intersections of Health and Spirituality: Current Research, Trends and Implications for People with Disabilities and their Families

Description: In recent years, significant advances have been made within palliative care and the attention of professionals to spirituality. The George Washington Institute on Spirituality and Health has designed a curriculum to assist medical professionals identify and address spiritual distress among their patients. The California State University system has created an online certification program, a part of which is spiritual care. These models build upon decades of research and practice in the provision of spiritual care and can provide important insights into ways that UCEDDs might also address the spiritual needs of people with disabilities, their families and their caregivers.
