TRIAD Train the Facilitator: A Capacity Building Webinar Series - Webinar 3

This webinar series is for educators, consultants, and administrators who provide or plan to provide professional development within their schools and school systems. The purpose of this TTT webinar series is to equip participants with the facilitation skills and resources necessary to build capacity and sustainability within their schools and school systems through the successful facilitation of training sessions. Vanderbilt’s Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders (TRIAD) will provide a 4 part webinar series designed specifically for LEA faculty and staff in Tennessee. Note: Participants must attend all 4 sessions to qualify for certification. Registration is limited to the first 15 participants.

Target Audience

  • Educators, consultants, and administrators who currently provide or plan to provide professional development sessions within their schools and school systems.

Prerequisites

  • Apply to participate in the webinar series.
  • Complete the assigned pre-webinar tasks. Prior to being accepted to the webinar series, applicants must complete 8 assigned brief online training modules. Each module will take about 20 minutes to complete.
  • Complete knowledge checks with at least 80% accuracy. Upon completion of each assigned module, applicants must complete the embedded knowledge check with at least an 80% score on each to reflect mastery of content.
  • Accept and confirm your participation to the series. Upon successful completion of the steps above, applicants will be notified that they are eligible to participate in the webinar series. Once notified, participants should accept and confirm your participation.

After Training Requirements

  • Plan and facilitate one observed training session for a group of 3 or more paraeducators, teachers, administrators, etc. with the support of a TRIAD Consultant.
  • Reflect on session and participate in a feedback call (via Zoom) with your TRIAD Consultant and complete a REDCap survey to capture data from the session.
  • Independently plan and facilitate one training session for a group of 3 or more paraeducators, teachers, administrators, etc. and complete a REDCap survey to capture data from the session.

  • Key elements for successful facilitation of training sessions
  • Instruction for utilizing prepared TRIAD modules for dissemination

Webinar Format

Webinar learning activities include:

  • Didactic presentation of training material
  • Modeling of key elements for facilitation
  • Supported Small group planning activities
  • Homework assignments - each week expect 1 hour of homework to be completed before attending the next session (including engagement with additional required training modules, reflection, and planning).
  • As a part of the series, for certification, you will be asked to record yourself presenting a training session with TRIAD content and allow other participants to review your presentation.

Proof of Attendance and Opportunity for Certification

  • Participants who attend 3 of the 4 webinars in the series will receive certificates documenting their participation of the entire series for up to 4 hours of professional development.
  • Participants will have the opportunity to become a Certified TRIAD Module Facilitator.

This professional development opportunity is sponsored by the Tennessee Department of Education and is available to educators in LEAs in Tennessee at no-cost to participants.
