FRIENDS is a support group that serves the Down Syndrome population and their families in East Tennessee and parts of West Virginia, Virginia, and South Carolina. FRIENDS offers educational programs, recreational activities, and fundraising events which include: Buddy Walk, Mom's & Dad's Night Out, Tots to Twelve (Hosts activities for birth to twelve with fun, age-appropriate activities), Snak & Yak (Hosts activities for 13 years and older for social and recreational activities.), Changing Lives (an educational program that coaches the medical community on how to caringly deliver the diagnosis of Down Syndrome and assist new parents) and New Parent Outreach (offers new parents information, resources, and support on Down Syndrome.) FRIENDS is an affiliate member of the National Down Syndrome Society and the National Down Syndrome Congress.
