Service Summary

Arts and Garden Program: Therapeutic workshops for youth and young adults to explore various creative arts and disciplines including: art, music, dance, and sensory friendly gardening. Our Place Art often collaborates with other community organizations such as: Autism Breakthrough of Knoxville, Knoxville Botanical Gardens, Central Baptist Church, Fountain City and Sunshine Ambassadors Inc. for special projects.

Our Place Art Camps: Full-time summer program offered to youth and young adults that provides therapeutic programs in: art, dance, music, and teaching basic life skills.

Education & Life-Skills Program: Monthly workshops for youth and young adults to work independently and cooperatively with their same age peers in academic and non-academic settings (i.e. cooking club at Whole Foods and Barnes and Noble book club). The goal of this program is to ensure that individuals develop appropriate socialization skills, establish long-term transition goals, and develop a sense of self-determination in making current and future life choices.

Vocational (Job Readiness & Job Coaching) Program: One-on-one training program that assists transitional youth and young adults with finding permanent employment and developing specific job skills.

Family & Community Program: Monthly community events and trainings to raise disability awareness, support groups for parents and siblings of individuals with disabilities, and annual Our Place Art Back to School: Health & Disability Resource Fair.

Eligibility Guidelines

Serves ages 8 to 65 years old. Proof of residency and identification required.
