Camp Sign Me Up: A weekly, summer camp in which typical children who have hearing learn American Sign Language (ASL) and practice during field trips and special activities. Campers are welcome to attend more than one week. Activities will change each week. There is a $10 discount for siblings. Camps starts at 9:00am and ends at 3:30pm. Before and after care, 8:30am to 4:45pm, are offered for $40.00 per week.
2019 Schedule:June 3-7 | Teen Week (age: 13-17)They will learn basic vocabulary and simple conversation skills. With successful completion, they can apply to return as junior counselors (volunteers) for the following weeks, giving them more (and free) opportunity to learn as well as good experience for transcripts and resumès.June 10-14 | Newbie (age: 6-12)This week is designed for 6 to 12 year olds who have not previously attended camp and who have not participated in Club Sign Me Up. This camp will teach them the alphabet, numbers, and some basic vocabulary to establish a foundation for language advancement.Weekly June 17-July 19 | Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced (age: 6-12)Family may choose the level that is appropriate for their child based on previous attendance in Camp Sign Me Up or Club Sign Me Up. Camp staff will evaluate campers and move them to different levels as needed. All the weeks will feature Deaf history and culture, and they will go on one to two field trips each week.
Camp Rise & Shine: An annual sleep-away just for our Deaf and hard of hearing students, it's an adventure filled with all the great camp traditions--sleeping bags, campfires, arts & crafts, and fireflies. FREE. 2019: May 10th-12th
