Overview of Interests

Angela Webster, MSW is Executive Director for AIMHiTN, a recently launched nonprofit organization striving to promote infant and early childhood mental health through building awareness, promoting professional capacity, fostering partnerships and supporting policies which are in the best interest of infants, young children and their families. While much of her career has focused on program development, nonprofit administration, and policy advocacy, Angela spent the early years of her career working in early childhood education. Angela has a strong background in policy and grassroots advocacy work having previously provided administrative oversight of a multi-state region for an international child and community development organization. During her time with the agency, she oversaw organizations across 9 states whose focus were families with children birth to age 18 living in extreme poverty.

Immediately prior to her transition to AIMHiTN, Angela was Director of Public Policy for Disability Rights Tennessee, where she spent nearly seven years building the agency’s capacity to impact systemic change at all levels by means of a broad range of policy advocacy efforts. In addition to nonprofit administration and public policy advocacy, Angela has worked in the areas of early childhood education, disability advocacy, child protection, emergency preparedness and response, juvenile justice, and systems change.

Angela received her Bachelor of Social Work from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma and her Masters of Social Work from Austin Peay State University through the Middle Tennessee Collaborative MSW Program.

Angela is a native Oklahoman, but her heart belongs to Tennessee where she lives on a farm in the mountains with her husband, their college-age son, and a menagerie of farm animals.
